I love to watch Nate and mom. He likes to spend time with Abue. He is really starting to call us all by name and ask people when he thinks about them or sees a picture. The past couple of days he has been sick and everytime we walk past Sasha's room he asks for "lala?". I remind him she is in "kool". His vocabulary is vast and very mixed up between English, Spanish, and some signs. If you don't know him and what he is trying to say it can be rather complicated. At the doctor's office yesterday they were amazed at how smart he is. (I could have told them that!) I would tell him something in English and he would reply in Spanish or vice-versa. I told him "di les adios", he said "bye-bye". They loved it! And he loves performing I think too!
Last week was a bit stressful since Nick was working overtime to help with the evacuee preparation in lieu of the hurricane. He wasn't home but Thursday evening. Although I know our lives are busy, it sure does make it easier when he is home. I get to relax just a bit, when he is gone, so is my relaxing time. I fall into bed late and get up early. Yet we all know it is all worthwhile, he is doing his job, a job that is very important especially when others are having trauma or crisis in their lives. Thanks honey for all you do:)
I just love to watch Nate and mom interact. He just talks and tells her all about everything. She is very good about teaching him new things as well. She taught him how to say "buenos dias". He says it fairly well. As much as I like watching the two of them play and interact, it also makes me wish dad was here. I know he would have a nickname for this little termite, I don't know if it would be a nice one though. Nate the great is always on the investigation whether he is supposed to be or not.

Abue, lide.

She is always there to catch him. I love this, they are both having such a great time. I hope he will treasure these memories, I do.

And after playing with abue, he always needs a drink. Of course only abue gets away with giving him SODA. Gee whiz, like he doesn't already live on a natural sugar rush. He doesn't sit down. The past couple of days that he has been sick, it has been sad watching him just sit around. He just wants to sit in someones lap, read books, and sing. The funny thing he has learned is to spit into the bucket/trash can. I know thats kinda gross, but we kept sticking that darn can in his face when he would get sick, so now he just sees that can and spits drool into it. Quick learner and great association, what can I say, I'm his mom I notice these random things :) Hugs to all.
