.... the beginning of a new chapter ...
Our new family :)
God has blessed us in so many ways the past eight years. It is hard to believe so much has happened in that little time. We are beginning a new path as we travel down Senior year with Sash, Pre K with Nate, so much has changed yet so much is the same. Our love has grown in many ways and our lives have grown in many ways. Thank you God for the treasure of my husband :)

Tonsils
Nate was scheduled for his tonsilectomy and a new pair of tubes because of eustachian tube dysfunction, and a list of other jibberish listed on the paperwork. We arrived at 6:30am, yes a.m. I know, you are all laughing that I had to be up and out of the house before daylight. Not nice. Lala and Nate played until he was called back to prepare for surgery. They had fun on this magnetic sand table. Nate also played on the phone, and various other games. He was having a blast, good thing, we would soon be in pain.
Abue also came with us. This was an emotional day for all of us, especially Abue. She was a real trooper and did a great job staying strong. Thank you all for the prayers. I know this experience has resurfaced anxious and painful memories of Vitie. Vitie has left a legacy and in many ways I think Nate is fulfilling his legacy. The stories I hear about my quick-witted brother and his imagination are reflected in my little guy. I pray that God will provide some healing through Nate's experience. I know grief runs deep and the surgery was a reminder of a painful experience yet I hope God is using Nate to increase faith and trust. I wish I would have known my brother even for the short time God shared him on earth. I trust God is good and He will use everything for His purpose. Vitie your memory will live always.
Nate is comfy in his bed and posing, saying "cheeeeeese" of course. He is well trained in posing and saying cheese. Although we need to learn to say cheese with a "real" smile and not a superly overt fake smile because all of Nate's pictures are going to have this goofy grin. And this was before meds!
Tonsils
Nate is looking around the room and trying to see what he can do, what can he investigate .... so much to do, so many dress up things ...
Momma trying really hard to sleep. Nate shared his blanket :) Such a nice little guy, sharing. I was pretending, but I really really wanted to sleep we had to get there sooooo early. And we all know how much I love mornings :(

Tonsils
On the way to surgery. Nate is excited that he is getting to ride the bed:) It rolls like a train!! He was in a good mood, brave, and ready to have pudding! He just wants to feel better.
After his surgery he only wanted daddy. He was fairly feisty and did wanted the IV out, he even tried a few times, it wasn't a pretty sight. It was extremely sad and painful for a mom to watch. I am very glad dad was there he was quite a bit calmer than mom. It was tough to watch Nate be wild and mad. He was not his usual funny, silly, cuddly, and lovey self ... it hurt momma's heart.
Juju and Abue came to see him. Thank you Juju and Abue for coming to support Nate, mom, dad, and Lala. He was tired from the surgery and the anesthesia and took a good nap. Nate needed to drink some juice or eat a popsicle and keep it down in order for us to leave. We watched tv and coaxed him, it was not an easy task.
But by the end of the day, he was eating pudding, popsicles, applesauce, a smoothie, and drinking juice and water. I don't think anything is completely filling his tummy so he is just eating and tasting all kinds of things. Poor Natie, I hope tomorrow he is feeling just a bit better and we can try something a little bit more. Then again, I don't want to push him and cause his throat to hurt more.
